Adventure Guide Program Information
Western Family YMCA
Adventure Guides 2010-2011
Parent & Child Family Program
Come and join a strong family program rich in YMCA history. Adventure Guides has been a part of the YMCA for over 75 years. Our enhanced family program focuses on and strengthens the bond that exists between parents and their children. We achieve this by offering a variety of events organized by YMCA staff and parent volunteers.
All YMCA Adventure Guides will meet as a nation (all members of the Western YMCA Guides as a whole) for Nation Events about ten times each year. Nation events such as camping, baseball games, and hikes are just a few highlights. The YMCA character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility are an
integral part of this family program.
Small groups of 8 to 10 children and their parents meet once per month for activities and fun.
